Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20)
  • 1 cup plain breadcrumbs
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a loaf pan.
  2. Sauté chopped onion in olive oil over medium heat until translucent; add minced garlic for the last minute.
  3. In a bowl, mix ground beef, sautéed onions and garlic, breadcrumbs, eggs, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper gently.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together balsamic vinegar and remaining ketchup; reserve half for glazing.
  5. Shape the meat mixture into a loaf in the prepared pan. Pour half of the glaze on top before baking.
  6. Bake for 55-60 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
  7. Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing; drizzle with remaining glaze before serving.
