- 1 lb ground beef (80/20)
- 1 cup plain breadcrumbs
- 2 large eggs
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup balsamic vinegar
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a loaf pan.
- Sauté chopped onion in olive oil over medium heat until translucent; add minced garlic for the last minute.
- In a bowl, mix ground beef, sautéed onions and garlic, breadcrumbs, eggs, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper gently.
- In another bowl, whisk together balsamic vinegar and remaining ketchup; reserve half for glazing.
- Shape the meat mixture into a loaf in the prepared pan. Pour half of the glaze on top before baking.
- Bake for 55-60 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
- Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing; drizzle with remaining glaze before serving.
