- 1 lb ground beef or lamb
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 carrots, chopped
- 1 cup frozen peas
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup low-sodium beef broth
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 2 lbs Yukon Gold or Russet potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 4 tbsp butter
- ½ cup milk
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a skillet, sauté onions until translucent. Add garlic and cook briefly.
- Add ground meat and brown thoroughly; drain excess fat if needed.
- Stir in carrots and frozen peas. Mix in Worcestershire sauce and beef broth; simmer for 5-10 minutes until thickened.
- Boil peeled and cubed potatoes until fork-tender (15-20 minutes). Drain and mash with butter, milk, salt, and pepper.
- Spread the meat mixture in a baking dish and top with mashed potatoes. Smooth the surface.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown. Let cool slightly before serving.
