Description

Deviled Egg Chicks are a playful twist on the classic appetizer, perfect for any gathering. These charming little bites feature creamy, spiced yolk filling nestled in hard-boiled egg whites, decorated to resemble cute chicks. With their delightful presentation and delicious flavor, they are sure to be a hit at your next event!


Ingredients

  • 6 large hard-boiled eggs
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 6 pitted black olives (for eyes)
  • 1 medium carrot (cut into small triangles for beaks and feet)
  • 2 tbsp finely chopped chives or green onions (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Boil the eggs by placing them in a pot covered with water. Bring to a boil, then cover and remove from heat, letting them sit for 10-12 minutes. Transfer to ice water to cool.
  2. Peel the cooled eggs under running water and slice them in half lengthwise. Scoop out the yolks into a bowl.
  3. Mash the yolks with mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, paprika, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  4. Spoon or pipe the yolk mixture back into the egg whites.
  5. Decorate each chick using sliced olives for eyes and carrot triangles for beaks and feet. Garnish with chives if desired.
  6. Serve chilled on a platter.
