Ingredients

  • Submarine sandwich rolls
  • Ribeye or flank steak
  • Sweet onions
  • Red and green bell peppers
  • Mozzarella cheese
  • Sharp cheddar cheese
  • Garlic butter
  • Italian seasoning

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Thinly slice the beef steak against the grain; dice onions and bell peppers.
  3. In a skillet over medium heat, sauté onions until translucent, then add bell peppers and cook until softened.
  4. Increase heat to medium-high; add sliced beef to the skillet, season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning, cooking until done.
  5. Slice rolls down the center without cutting through completely; hollow out some bread if desired.
  6. Load each roll with the beef mixture and top generously with mozzarella and cheddar cheese.
  7. Brush garlic butter over filled rolls and bake on a baking sheet for 15–20 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
  8. Let cool slightly before slicing; serve hot with marinara sauce for dipping.
