Description

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3 large eggs (room temperature)
  • 1 cup warm milk (110°F)
  • 1/2 cup softened butter
  • 1 cup chopped unsalted pistachios
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup honey

Instructions

  1. Activate the yeast by combining warm milk and sugar in a bowl. Sprinkle yeast on top and let it sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Add eggs, melted butter, and activated yeast mixture; stir until a shaggy dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in an oiled bowl, cover it, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  5. Mix chopped pistachios with cinnamon and honey for the filling.
  6. Roll out the risen dough into a rectangle, spread butter over it, sprinkle the nut mixture evenly, roll tightly into a log, and cut into equal pieces.
  7. Place buns cut-side up in a greased baking dish and let rise again for about 30 minutes.
  8. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake buns for approximately 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Drizzle warm honey over baked buns while they cool slightly.
