Description

Chocolate Meringue Easter Nests are a delightful springtime treat featuring crispy meringue and rich chocolate, perfect for Easter gatherings or simply indulging yourself.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 large egg whites
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips
  • Edible decorations (mini eggs or sprinkles)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 225°F (110°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a clean mixing bowl, whip egg whites until foamy, then gradually add sugar while beating until stiff peaks form (5-7 minutes).
  3. Sift cocoa powder into the mixture and gently fold it in without deflating the egg whites.
  4. Spoon or pipe mounds onto prepared sheets, creating indentations for nests.
  5. Bake for 1 hour and 30 minutes until dry to touch but soft inside.
  6. Cool, then melt chocolate chips in intervals until smooth. Fill each nest with melted chocolate and top with decorations.
