  • 4 medium russet potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced (about 2 pounds)
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons butter (for greasing)
  • Fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a baking dish with butter.
  2. In a bowl, mix heavy cream, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until combined.
  3. Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the baking dish. Pour half of the cream mixture over them and sprinkle with half of the cheddar cheese.
  4. Repeat the layering process with the remaining potatoes, cream mixture, and cheese.
  5. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Allow to cool for 10 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
