  • 1 lb ground lamb or beef
  • 2 cups carrots, diced
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 lbs potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • ½ cup milk or cream
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 tsp dried rosemary
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, sauté onions and carrots in olive oil until softened.
  3. Add ground lamb or beef and cook until browned. Stir in thyme, rosemary, salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce.
  4. Mix in minced garlic and frozen peas; cook for an additional two minutes.
  5. Boil potatoes in salted water until tender (about 15-20 minutes). Drain and mash with butter and milk until creamy.
  6. In a baking dish, layer the meat mixture at the bottom and top with mashed potatoes. Smooth the top.
  7. Bake for 25–30 minutes until golden brown.
